Farmstay
Pōhatu/ Flea Bay was the first officially established farm on Banks Peninsula in 1843 and your hosts, The Helps family, have farmed here since the early 70’s.
Overtime they’ve transformed a rundown farm into a well balance sheep and cattle farm with 40% of it protected into covenants and reserves to recreate luxurious ancient forests and allow the wildlife to navigate and expand their territory. They are now also using regenerative farming practices to get the most of mother nature, using many rare sheep breeds.
